7th GRADE FRIDAY NIGHT Cotillion
2009/2010
Friday Night Cotillion for 7th graders is a long standing, special 7th grade tradition. On six Friday nights throughout the year, 7th grade boys and girls will be treated to a fun social evening learning dance steps and etiquette, taught by renowned local instructor, Don O’Connell. Several nights will be theme nights with appropriate dress and refreshments.
All classes are held in the JM gym on Friday evenings from 7:30 to 9:00 pm.
Dates are October 16 & 23, November 13, February 19, March 5 & 12
Cost is $49.00 per student for 6 lessons, payable to JM PTA.
No refunds for missed classes.
In keeping with the spirit of Cotillion, we ask students to agree to the following:
Dress Code:
BOYS: Nice long pants, collared shirt, tie and dress shoes. No knit shirts, jeans, T-shirts, tennis shoes, sandals or hats.
GIRLS: Dresses or skirts (finger-tip length) and blouses. Shoes must have backs or back straps with low heels, no higher than 1 ½ inches. No pants, jeans, shorts, strapless/halter/spaghetti strap tops or hats, slides or backless shoes.
Children not dressed according to dress code will not be allowed to participate.
Behavior Code:
Students are to behave in an orderly manner.
Students will arrive promptly at 7:30 pm and will not be allowed to enter after 7:40 pm.
Students will not be allowed to leave the class until 9:00 pm. Parents, please pick up your student promptly at 9:00 pm.
Rude or disorderly behavior will result in dismissal with no refund.
All school codes applying to school dances will be in effect.
Chaperones are needed for each lesson. Please volunteer on the enrollment form. You will be called if needed. Please note you may be asked to fill in as a dance partner if numbers are uneven on a given night. All participants must fill out a waiver before the frist class.
